Gorillacell Module 052: Fingerprint Sensor

Fingerprint Sensor is a type of biometric sensor used to identify or verify a person based on their unique fingerprint pattern. Biometric sensors function by capturing and analyzing physical or behavioral characteristics, such as fingerprints, facial features, or iris patterns, for secure authentication. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit comes with a Fingerprint Sensor module capable of enrolling, storing, and matching fingerprints directly through the microcontroller interface. This makes it ideal for security systems, access control, and personal identification applications.

Gorillacell Module 051: Gesture Sensor

Gesture Sensor is an electronic input device that detects and interprets hand gestures made in front of the sensor. It works by emitting light and analyzing the reflected light patterns to determine the direction and movement of the hand. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit comes with a Gesture Sensor module powered by the APDS9960 driver chip. The APDS9960 is a digital proximity, ambient light, color, and gesture sensor that can detect gestures such as up, down, left, and right movements, making it ideal for touchless control applications.

Gorillacell Module 050: TOF Distance Sensor

Time-of-Flight (ToF) Sensor is a device used to measure the distance between the sensor and an object. It operates using the Time-of-Flight principle, which measures the time taken by a light signal (usually an infrared beam) to travel to an object and reflect back to the sensor. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit comes with a ToF Ranging Sensor module powered by the VL53L0X IC. The VL53L0X uses a laser-based infrared emitter to achieve precise and fast distance measurements, making it suitable for applications such as object detection, proximity sensing, and gesture recognition.

Gorillacell Module 049: Pressure Sensor

Pressure Sensor is an input device used for measuring barometric pressure — the pressure exerted by the atmosphere. It is commonly used in applications such as altitude measurement, weather monitoring, and environmental sensing. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit comes with a Pressure Sensor module powered by the BMP280 driver IC. The BMP280 provides high-precision barometric pressure and temperature readings through a digital I²C or SPI interface, making it ideal for compact and low-power sensing applications.

Gorillacell Module 048: Heartbeat Sensor

Heart Rate Sensor is a device used to measure the number of heartbeats per minute (BPM). It detects the subtle changes in blood flow caused by each heartbeat, allowing accurate pulse rate monitoring. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit comes with a Heart Rate Sensor module powered by the MAX30102 chip. The MAX30102 is an integrated Pulse Oximetry and Heart Rate Monitor that uses infrared and red LEDs along with a photodetector to measure heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) non-invasively.
