Gorillacell Module 035: Light Sensor

George Bantique October 9, 2025 Comments Off

The Light Sensor, also known as a Photoresistor or Light Dependent Resistor (LDR), is an electronic component that varies its resistance based on the amount of light intensity falling on it. When exposed to bright light, its resistance decreases, and when in darkness, its resistance increases. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit includes one Light Sensor module for experimenting with light detection, automatic lighting control, and other photo-sensitive applications.

Gorillacell Module 034: Joystick

The Joystick is essentially composed of two potentiometers arranged perpendicularly to detect horizontal (X-axis) and vertical (Y-axis) movements. By varying the resistance in each axis, it provides analog input signals corresponding to the direction and magnitude of movement. It is commonly used in game controllers, robotics, and control interfaces. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit includes one Joystick module for experimenting with directional input control and analog movement detection.

Gorillacell Module 033: Slider Potentiometer

The Slider Potentiometer is another type of potentiometer, designed in a linear slider form factor instead of a rotary knob. It adjusts resistance by moving the slider along a straight path, making it ideal for applications that require precise linear control, such as audio mixers or user input interfaces. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit includes one Slider Potentiometer module for experimenting with analog input control and smooth variable adjustments.

Gorillacell Module 032: Continuous Rotation Potentiometer

George Bantique October 9, 2025 Comments Off

The Infinite Rotation Potentiometer, also known as a Continuous Rotation Potentiometer, is a type of potentiometer that has no mechanical stoppers at either its minimum or maximum positions. As the knob is rotated toward the maximum position, the resistance increases accordingly. Once it reaches the end of its range, a further rotation causes the resistance to wrap around back to the minimum value, and vice versa. This allows continuous, smooth adjustment without physical limits.

Gorillacell Module 031: Potentiometer

George Bantique October 9, 2025 Comments Off

The Potentiometer is an input device that varies its resistance when the knob is rotated. It is commonly used for adjusting voltage levels, controlling brightness, or tuning input values in electronic circuits. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit includes one Potentiometer module. It features mechanical stoppers at its minimum and maximum positions to prevent over-rotation and ensure durability during use.
