Gorillacell Module 050: TOF Distance Sensor
Time-of-Flight (ToF) Sensor is a device used to measure the distance between the sensor and an object. It operates using the Time-of-Flight principle, which measures the time taken by a light signal (usually an infrared beam) to travel to an object and reflect back to the sensor. The Gorillacell ESP32 Development Kit comes with a ToF Ranging Sensor module powered by the VL53L0X IC. The VL53L0X uses a laser-based infrared emitter to achieve precise and fast distance measurements, making it suitable for applications such as object detection, proximity sensing, and gesture recognition.
